The Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) will have 3 law enforcement officers on site describing the following topics:

Electronic Search Warrants for Blood – The Arizona GOHS and the Arizona Supreme Court are the leaders in electronic search warrants for blood. Officers are able to secure an electronic search warrant within minutes, when a suspected impaired driver is in custody.

Arizona Phlebotomy Program - The Arizona Law Enforcement Phlebotomy Program is directed and supported by the Arizona Governor's Office of Highway Safety.  The program was initiated in the early 1990's through the efforts of the Arizona GOHS, the Arizona Department of Public Safety and Phoenix College.  Through the leadership and development efforts of GOHS, the program has provided initial phlebotomy training and qualification to over 1300 officers and support personnel throughout the State of Arizona.  The GOHS currently supports the efforts and training of approximately 450 active phlebotomists.  These phlebotomists complete thousands of evidentiary and officer safety-related exposure draws every year.  In addition to training and supporting the phlebotomists, the GOHS provides training and education on law enforcement phlebotomy to forensic scientists, prosecutors, and judges throughout the state, as well as supporting numerous other states in the development and implementation of phlebotomy programs. 

The Know Your Limit Program – The Arizona GOHS and the Scottsdale Police Department have successfully implemented the Know Your Limit Program (KYL) throughout the State of Arizona. The KYL Program is an educational program that is conducted at large events and bar scenes, in which officers interact with the community to determine their BAC levels and encourage them to take an Uber or designate a sober designated driver if drinking.

DADSSACTS is a nonprofit organization incorporated in the Commonwealth of Virginia on June 27, 1986. Since 2008, the Coalition has been researching cooperatively with the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) the feasibility, potential benefits of, and public policy challenges associated with, the more ubiquitous use of a range of non-intrusive, in-vehicle technologies to prevent drunk driving. Be Crash FreeMembers make a pledge regarding smart choices and behaviors related to motorcycle riding. They get a membership card, a patch, and helmet sticker (all daily physical and visual reminders of their pledge to themselves). In addition, all members will receive a monthly email with a riding tip and reminder of their commitment to smart choices. The financial incentives come in the form of discounts from partner companies (riding gear, parts, accessories, travel related services, etc.). The ultimate goal is to enlist motorcycle insurance companies to recognize members as a lower risk pool and provide policy premium discounts (currently in conversation with 2 companies toward that goal).
