Westat’s Center for Transportation, Technology & Safety Research staff are experts in examining driver behavior, conducting field research, developing and performing household travel surveys, and designing safety systems evaluations. Our experienced transportation safety professionals are supported by specialized laboratories, world-class statisticians, an award winning graphics department, talented geospatial analysts, and an expansive field research system. Our current project topics include automated vehicle and other technology evaluation, travel speeds, enhanced seat belt usage, child passenger safety, traffic operations center effectiveness, and law enforcement program assistance. We can develop and deliver data collection instruments, training materials, and toolkits for projects large and small.
