GHSA's Annual Report, Highlights of Association Activity, showcases the Association's accomplishments from the 2019 Fiscal Year (July 1, 2018 – June 30, 2019).
The report provides updates on GHSA's activities and achievements, focusing on three key areas:
Advancing Traffic Safety Issues
GHSA conducted a project to enhance the relationships between State Highway Safety Office directors and law enforcement leadership, kicked off a new impaired-driving prevention grant program with Lyft and held a forum with the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety to address the issue of excessive vehicle speed, among many other issue-specific activities.
Collaborating with Congress and Federal Agencies
GHSA continued to work with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to clarify FAST Act rules and met with Congress on reauthorization recommendations to increase state flexibility and reduce administrative burdens.
Expanding and Delivering Member Services
GHSA grew and fortified its member services by delivering a new and improved Executive Seminar for new members, executing an Annual Meeting with record-setting attendance and producing a wealth of publications and webinars to keep members apprised of the latest highway safety developments.
