GHSA's Annual Report highlights the Association's accomplishments for the 2020 Fiscal Year (July 1, 2019 – June 30, 2020).
The report provides updates on GHSA's activities and achievements, focusing on three key areas:
Collaborating with Congress and Federal Agencies
GHSA worked to with Congress and NHTSA to adapt highway safety programs requirements in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, continued to engage on transportation reauthorization legislation to ease administrative burdens and increase flexibility, and launched several new behavioral traffic safety research projects.
Advancing Traffic Safety Issues
Through its strong partnerships, GHSA committed more than $600,000 to its state members to address drunk driving, drug-impaired driving, and speeding. The association also produced reports to educate members and the public high-risk impaired driving, pedestrian safety, autonomous vehicles and rear seat belt use.
Expanding and Delivering Member Services
GHSA grew and fortified its member services by delivering an improved Executive Seminar for new members, executing an Annual Meeting with record-setting attendance and producing a wealth of communications content to keep members apprised of the latest highway safety developments.
