This research was undertaken to assess the potential of mining the vast data resources resulting from the second Strategic Highway Safety Program’s (SHRP2) Naturalistic Driving Study (NDS) to enhance the safety of teen drivers. A research agenda is envisioned where specific strengths of the NDS database are exploited to support the development and evaluation of teen safety countermeasures.
