Pedestrian Traffic Fatalities: A First Look at 2023 State Data & National Trends

After several years of large increases, new data from the Governors Highway Safety Association indicates that fewer pedestrians were killed on U.S. roads in 2023. Despite that modest progress, we still have a long way to go to reach the goal of zero roadway deaths. Pedestrian fatalities have been trending upward over the past decade and make up a disproportionate share of traffic deaths. In this webinar, sponsored by Qualcomm, GHSA Communications Director Adam Snider will provide an overview of new GHSA data and what it says about U.S. pedestrian safety trends. Officials from two State Highway Safety Offices will share unique approaches states are taking to address pedestrian safety. Audience members will be invited to pose questions and share their thoughts on how to better protect people on foot.
