Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) works to empower, engage, mobilize and change students and adult allies on the issues of traffic safety, substance-abuse, mental health and leadership development. They do this through a peer-to-peer model of school and community-based chapters, and they’re looking for the next seasoned manager to join their team in a new, restructured role, as part of the new Strategic Plan. This exempt, full-time employee will be a veteran prevention manager who will lead the way to building and maintaining their work in the Colorado Region. Key responsibilities include:
- Manage (hire, empower, and direct) appropriate staff and contractors in the region that support the day -to-day work of the organization. Subordinate staff/contractors will serve as the direct chapter interface, conducting school and community visits, while the Regional Manager will supervise those efforts.
- Design a strategy to increase the effectiveness and engagement of peer-to-peer student leaders at the local, state and national level. Reporting to the Director of Prevention and Field Engagement, this position will create and implement strategies that result in increased reach, evaluation measurement and data-driven results.
- Oversee state and regional grants with an eye towards partnership development. This work includes the writing, execution and financial management of various local, state and national grants that speak to the mission of the organization. Exceptional writing skills are needed to craft narrative reports. Exceptional data skills are needed to interrupt data and respond to problem identification in programming based upon the needs of communities and chapters we serve.
- As a seasoned trainer, provided technical training and evaluation support to students, law enforcement and other prevention partners in the region. Proven experience in Prevention, Law Enforcement, Mobility Safety, Community Health or Mental Health programming is required.
Applicant must possess a BA or BS degree with 3-5 years’ management experience in the field of education, prevention, youth advocacy, substance abuse, program development or another relevant field is required. Advanced degree preferred. Strong writing and organizational skills are a must, as well as effective interpersonal communication and presentation skills. Proficiency with software such as Microsoft Office and other tools is expected. Salary range is between $60,000 and $70,000 and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
