Duties & Responsibilities

  • Counsel Traffic Safety and Government relations staff in appropriate association responses and positions on traffic safety issues using data analysis and judgment of scientific and political environments.
  • Build and maintain relationships with national stakeholders, industry groups, and federal agencies. Act as AAA’s traffic safety expert in media appearances (training provided) and at conferences and events.
  • Oversee and expand AAA’s traffic safety programs, including curriculum, materials, training, and marketing as well as manage budgets, sales reports, and inventory.
  • Lead original research and data analysis to support advocacy positions and safety initiatives.
  • Coordinate with the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, including involvement in R&D project funding decisions.
