The public can now learn details about every impaired driving arrest and crash that happens in Minnesota. The Minnesota Department of Public Safety’s Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) has made public a tool that was previously just for law enforcement.

A new grant for the Minnesota Department of Public Safety is hoping to address trends associated with distracted driving.

Through the support of the National Road Safety Foundation, GHSA awarded the Minnesota highway safety office a grant to engage with children through the Rochester Cops and Kids Community Bike Program, which promotes bicycle safety by organizing bike rides, bike rodeos and fix-it clinics.

GHSA and Michelin Mobility Intelligence (MMI) have awarded a total of $300,000 to three states for advanced traffic safety data collection and analysis.

GHSA has updated the Policies and Priorities that guide the organization’s work to prevent traffic crashes, injuries and deaths on U.S. roads. The changes reflect GHSA’s support for lower state Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) limits for impaired drivers.

GHSA has awarded grants totaling $75,000 from the National Road Safety Foundation to its members in Colorado, Kentucky and Minnesota to work with community-based groups representing underserved populations to provide safe youth mobility options.
