  • Assessing Pre-Hospital Hemorrhage Management and Mortality in U.S. Motor Vehicle Crashes

    The objectives of this research are to assess pre-hospital hemorrhage management and mortality in U.S. motor vehicle crashes and develop recommendations that state highway safety offices (SHSOs) and other stakeholders can use to reduce pre-hospital mortality through enhanced trauma response activities.

  • Strategies to Reduce Crashes for Young Drivers Not Covered by Graduated Driver Licensing Restrictions

  • Quantifying Effectiveness of Behavioral Countermeasures to Develop Crash Modification Factors

    The objective of this research is to develop a guide for quantifying the effectiveness of behavioral countermeasures, expressed as a Crash Modification Factor (CMF) with supporting documentation. Behavioral countermeasures will be defined based on topic areas listed in the NHTSA’s Countermeasures that Work.

  • Effects of Automated Speed Enforcement on Crashes Involving Pedestrians and Bicyclists
    Transportation Research Board, Behavioral Traffic Safety Cooperative Research Program (BTSCRP)
    The objective of this research is to develop a guide for SHSOs and other stakeholders that quantifies the effects of ASE on crashes involving pedestrians, bicyclists, and other nonmotorized users; examines how roadway context and related factors influence the safety impacts of ASE; and identifies key considerations for planning and implementing ASE programs to improve safety for vulnerable road users.
