MADD was recognized by GHSA for its War Room, which advocated for more than a year for legislation mandating the installation of drunk driving prevention systems in all new cars that could save 9,400 lives annually.
The War Room was composed of MADD staff and former presidents, and more than 100 volunteer family members representing individuals killed or injured in drunk driving crashes. The War Room was instrumental in the successful effort to include this statutory language in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Act, which was signed into law last year.
